We are excited to welcome you to our office. Meet the doctor and staff who make Impact Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in Plano, Texas. Dr. Tjandra leads an energetic and enthusiastic team dedicated to delivering a comprehensive and satisfying eye experience.

Easter W. Tjandra, O.D.

Easter W. Tjandra, O.D., has been in private practice since 2000. She began her education at the University of California at Irvine, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and continued to the Southern California College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990. While in school, Dr. Tjandra received first place honors at the Student Research Symposium, March 1990 for the research paper “A Clinical Comparison of the Tono-Pen II Hand-Held Tonometer to the Goldmann Applanation Tonometer”.

Dr. Tjandra keeps her skills current and stays informed of the latest developments in her field by participating in multiple continuing education courses throughout the year. She is currently a member of the Texas Optometric Association, the North East Texas Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Association.

Peter Chao, O.D.

We are excited to introduce Therapeutic Optometrist, Peter Chao, as the new partner of Impact Eyecare.
He has a reputation of being a “friendly eye doctor” who does a “very thorough exam.”  Besides glasses and contact lens prescriptions, he has 10 plus years of experience in dry, itchy, and other eye conditions.  As a dry eye and allergy eye sufferer himself, he has developed synergistic techniques to manage his disorders which he shares with his patients.   Being an undergrad from University of California Berkeley and a graduate of University of Houston College of Optometry, he approaches preventative and reactive eye therapy with an integrative medicine point of view (incorporating naturopathic elements into traditional western medicine) for those who are at risk of eye disorder from borderline to severe chronic systemic health conditions, such as abnormal blood sugar, blood pressure, or lipidemia.  Dr. Chao has a certification from Ocular Wellness & Nutrition Society for “nutrition, supplements, anterior ocular health.” Come and see what he can offer you starting December 2, 2021.

As Impact Eyecare grows with the latest in eye care, Dr. Chao will be transitioning from the minority partner to the majority partner.  It is an exciting time for this practice as we venture into more than just traditional glasses and contact lens care with the assistance of Dr. Chao.
